First launched in April 2018, the career site of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) has seen continuous updates and improvements. This development has not gone unnoticed. Over a 100 Dutch recruitment websites were analyzed and the NS came out on top. It was rated to have the best digital experience and was awarded the Digital-Recruitment award. So what makes this site so special?
An employee-centric approach
The NS employs over 22,000 people in the Netherlands, spread out over its trains, maintenance locations, train stations, service points and its headquarters. Making the NS a very versatile organization. As a result, the old way of recruiting - from an organisational perspective - made it nearly impossible to match the right candidate with the right job.
That is why the NS decided to turn it around. By mapping out the different target groups (e.i. the candidates) it enables the candidate to find their dream job at NS much faster. The career website naturally plays an important role in this. Collecting data on their site helps NS make the right decisions.

And that is exactly what the jury of the Digital Recruitment Awards has noticed. Here is what they said:
